Kuala Kedah is one of the major gateways to Pulau Langkawi and an important gateway to the State of Kedah by sea. The port also has a rich historical background with an army fort for the Sultanate of Kedah, which was used to counter attacks against the Kingdom of Siam and was occupied by the British until the early 1900s. The port is now a port of choice for travelers who wanted to travel to Pulau Langkawi via ferries with thriving fish ports.
Our Consortium and team members intend to implement the upgrading and expansion of jetty, passenger terminal building, cargo operations, roro, and associated facilities at Kuala Kedah Ferry Terminal to achieve the following objectives:
To increase the terminal capacity to 3000 passengers at one time with Optimum Level of Service (LoS);
To modernize the jetty operations to make it IT compliant with the application of new technologies and automation;
Create a strong new identity to identify it as a premier jetty and gateway to Langkawi island and the State of Kedah.
To create a Total Terminal Experience (TTE) for passengers by:-
Providing a spacious, varied and comfortable environment that enhances the experience for passengers
